PRP & Prostride
PRP and Pro-Stride are regenerative therapies that use components derived from the horse’s own blood to create concentrated treatments that can be administered directly to an affected area. These therapies are commonly used in equine sports medicine to support the management of certain joint and soft-tissue conditions.
Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP, concentrates platelets and growth factors found naturally within the horse’s blood. Pro-Stride is an autologous treatment designed to concentrate beneficial blood components involved in the body’s natural response to inflammation and tissue injury.
The appropriate treatment depends on the horse’s diagnosis, affected structure, and individual needs. Following an examination and any necessary diagnostic imaging, your veterinarian can determine whether regenerative therapy may be beneficial, and develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan specific to your horse.
