Shockwave Therapy

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused acoustic energy to stimulate biological responses within targeted tissues. It is commonly incorporated into treatment and rehabilitation plans for a variety of orthopedic and soft-tissue conditions in horses.

Shockwave therapy may be recommended for certain tendon and ligament injuries, areas of bone or joint-related discomfort, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment is directed precisely to the affected area and is typically performed as part of a larger veterinary treatment or rehabilitation plan.

Every horse and injury is different, so shockwave therapy is recommended based on the veterinarian’s examination, diagnosis, and treatment goals. When appropriate, it can be a useful tool for supporting the healing process and helping horses return comfortably to their intended level of activity.
